Building Bridges Through Education, Inspiring Futures Across Cultures

LBY Creative Academy is proud to announce that our Founder and Principal, Dr. Liang Biyu, has been featured on the cover of the June 2026 issue of China Scholars Abroad (Shenzhou Xueren), a national publication supervised by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.

The special issue, “Planting Seeds in Africa: Educational Practices of Chinese Teachers in Africa,” celebrates educators who are contributing to educational cooperation and cultural exchange between China and Africa. Dr. Liang’s article, “Building a School in Ghana: Practical Pathways and Human Connections in China–Africa Educational Integration,” shares the story of more than thirteen years of educational practice in Ghana and reflects on how education can become a bridge connecting different cultures, communities, and futures.

Since founding LBY Creative Academy in 2015, Dr. Liang has believed that quality education should never be a simple transfer of one country’s system to another. Instead, meaningful education must grow from local realities while embracing the strengths of different educational traditions.

Guided by this philosophy, LBY Creative Academy has developed an innovative learning model that integrates Chinese educational values, Singapore Mathematics, STEM education, creative arts, and African cultural contexts. Students learn through inquiry, hands-on exploration, real-world observation, and interdisciplinary projects that encourage curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

From designing future cities through engineering activities, exploring mathematics in local markets, and understanding geometry through traditional Chinese origami, to experiencing Chinese calligraphy and Lunar New Year celebrations, students are encouraged to discover knowledge through authentic experiences rather than passive memorization. These learning experiences help children develop not only academic competence but also confidence, cultural understanding, and global perspectives.

For Dr. Liang, education is not simply about teaching subjects—it is about helping children understand the world and helping different cultures understand one another. The most meaningful educational exchange is never one-way. It grows through mutual respect, shared learning, and genuine human connection.

Today, LBY Creative Academy has become one of Ghana’s pioneering Chinese-founded K–12 schools, recognized for its commitment to educational innovation, STEM development, interdisciplinary learning, and teacher professional growth. The school continues to explore educational approaches that are locally rooted while internationally connected.

Being featured on the cover of China Scholars Abroad is a recognition not only of Dr. Liang’s educational journey but also of the dedication of every teacher, student, parent, and partner who has contributed to the school’s development over the past thirteen years.

As we look to the future, LBY Creative Academy will continue to strengthen China–Africa educational cooperation, promote innovative learning, and cultivate young people who are creative, compassionate, and prepared to contribute to an increasingly interconnected world.
